So during the Christmas break discussions about Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO) with my son convinced me to try the game out. Memories from my old Counter-Strike days came flooding back, and I happily shared some memorable plays with him, the friends I met, how often I used to play, the fact that I started playing Counter-Strike when it was still a mod for Half-Life and not a stand-alone game like what it is now (that’s a little bit of trivia for the younger generation), and whatever else I could remember.
Naturally, the current game has improved (or declined, depending on your point-of-view) a whole lot. My aim and coordination is trash now, haha, having played my last first-person shooter (FPS) 10 years ago, I think.
Anyway, so I’ve been playing a bit of CS:GO since the Christmas break and during my free time. Occasionally playing with my son, whether on opposing teams or on the same side. Played a few rounds, too, with our friend from church, AJ.
I just gotta say the people who play now need to know how to buy their equipment faster. 😛 And I miss the original Dust map. Dust 2 is the most popular map right now, I believe. The original Dust has been cut in half (now called Short Dust) and is used for shorter games like Wingman (2v2).
This morning, before breakfast and work, I decided to jump in on a server and play a few rounds to get the blood flowing. I decided to stick to just a few rounds before I get carried away… and while I was having a good streak! OK, I’ll be quiet now and let you enjoy the short clip below.
